A typical day includes a lot of music and a lot of fun.

A typical day includes lectures, media viewing and listening, study of relevant Suzuki repertoire and technique implementation, class participation with instruments, and observation of WWSI student sessions. The schedule is intensive and may include some evening sessions.

ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE EXPECTED TO:

  • Prepare the music in the book(s) to be studied to the point of fluent performance – preferably from memory.
  • Be conversant with the ideas presented in Suzuki’s Nurtured by Love.
  • Perform in class and bring their own instrument(s) to every class.
  • Bring the Suzuki Book(s) to be studied and a notebook to all classes.
  • Attend all classes. 100% attendance is required for the course to be added to your SAA training transcript.
  • Participants may bring recording equipment to record the classes.

BEFORE ENROLLING IN TEACHER TRAINING COURSES PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Join the Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) as an Active member: suzukiassociation.org/about/membership
  2. All teachers must complete the Every Child Can! Course (ECC). Here is a link for more information from the SAA, including ECC offerings, locations, and dates: suzukiassociation.org/events/course/ecc
  3. A teacher training video audition is required. Here is more information from the SAA about this process: suzukiassociation.org/teachers/training/audition

Note: ECC and Suzuki Books 1 and 2 must be taken in order. After this you can complete the remaining books in any sequence. However, it is helpful to take books in order when possible as the repertoire and techniques build in a wonderful way throughout each level.

WWSI will register your teacher training with the SAA at the completion of the course.
